Our Trip To Kerala!

On April 22nd, 2011, me and my family went to Kerala. Soon we reached Kerala. Then, without even planning to go there, we went to Kalady. Kalady is very special because it was the birthplace of Adi Shankaracharya. We went to the Matth there. We had lunch there and went on our way. After a few hours, we reached Cherai beach. We played in the beach for sometime, then watched the sunset. We spent the night in a beach hotel called the Sealine hotel.
The next morning, we woke up, had breakfast and played in the beach some more! Finally, we left and went to Chetuva. There we went on a thrilling boat ride around Raja Island! On Raja Island there is the Raja Ayurvedic hospital. Also, in the same backwater which Raja Island was, there were LOTS of Mangroves, and our boat went through the grove of Mangroves! We also saw a few birds. After the boat ride, we went to Anna Kotta, a place with many elephants. There we saw elephants of all sizes. We saw them taking a bath, eating, and one was even showing off to the tourists! It was a very nice place. After Anna Kotta, we went to the Guruvayur temple. After that, we went to Kozhikode, and spent the night in the famous beach hotel. Many great people, like Chacha Nehru, had stayed in the same hotel! The next morning, we went to the beach next to the hotel, and after jumping over one last wave, we set off home!

our mumbai trip

It's Dussera vacation! Me and my family went on a trip to Maharashtra. First we went to Mumbai. There I went to my aunt's house. On our first day there, here's what we did:

First we drove across the sealink and then marine drive. From there we went to malabar hills. There we climed the boot house! It was lots of fun.

Then again we drove across marine drive. Can you guess where we were going? The Gateway of India, of course! The gateway was bigger than the India Gate in Delhi! And I thought Delhi should have the biggest and best gate, since it's the capital!

Near the gateway was the Taj Hotel. After taking some pictures with the magnificent hotel, we headed towards the docks. There we got on a boat headed towards Elephanta Island. We were going to see the Elephanta Caves!

The Caves were amazing! The sculptures were Magnificent! It was very nice. I wish they weren't half- broken.

It was becoming night, so we decided to head back home. But there was one more thing we had to do. We went to Choupati beach and . . . Can you guess what we did? Okay, I'll tell you: We ate Bhel Puri! It was very yummy.

As soon as I got home, I crashed into bed.

The next day, we got into the car and went to Powai lake. From there we went to the Sidhvinayak temple and then the Mahalakshmi temple. Then we went to the Nehru Science Museum. It was very interesting. from there we went to Juhu Beach. There we ate the best pao bhaji ever! The next day we went to Nasik. There we went to the triambakashvar temple. Then we went to the place where lord Rama lived in his exhile. This is called the panchavati. From there we went to shiridi and had darshan in the temple. From there we went to Ajanta. the ajanta caves were amazing! I couldn't belive the paintings lasted so long! From Ajanta we went to the Ellora Caves. The sculptures were amazing! But the most breathtaking part was the kailashnath temple. I couldn't believe that it was all built of one stone!

I loved my trip to Mumbai! It was the best trip ever!

Bandipur National Park

On May 15, 2010, my family and I went to Bandipur National Park. There we stayed in a place called Dhole’s Den. In Dhole’s Den, we ate lunch, and then because there was still one hour till the safari, we decided to walk around and see the hotel’s chickens, dogs, and gardens. Once we had seen all these things, we decided to go back to our cabin. There we freshened up and then we went for the safari. The moment we went into the forest, we were on the lookout for animals. The first animals we saw were deer. A whole lot of them! Cute little fawns, beautiful females, and great, males with huge antlers! As we drived along, we saw another herd of deer. So, after taking some photos, we continued. Suddenly, two HUGE bison almost the size of our jeep came out of the bushes, bounded across the path in front of jeep in less than a few seconds, and jumped into the bushes at the other side! There was barely any time even to take pictures! As we continued, we came upon a big herd of bison! They really were huge! Next we came to a bunch of monkeys! A tiny baby monkey was holding his mother’s belly and getting carried everywhere. Two little baby monkeys were playing. Some monkeys were sitting on trees. They were all really funny!
The next animals we saw were the best ones of all: some elephants! There were five altogether: three mommies, and two babies. They were all taking a bath in a water hole because it was so hot. When they saw our jeep, they all got scared and started to move away into the bushes, but one little baby elephant stayed back near the bank and started to pour sand over itself to dry itself. After a while, the baby elephant also went. Next, we were hoping to see a leopard or tiger, but the man driving the jeep said that we would be very lucky to see a tiger, because they are nocturnal. And leopards are the least likely because they are also nocturnal, and plus even if they are awake, they will stay on the trees. But we still hoped to be lucky. Suddenly, the driver stopped the jeep. “What is it?” we said. It was a tiger’s footprint! Well, at least we got that close to a tiger!

Where can you see crocodiles, birds, and more?

Have you ever imagined that you were going on a boat ride, and the boatman is going very slowly, and suddenly you realise that there is a crocodile right next to the boat?

Well, that’s the kind of thing which happens at Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary. There you can go on boat rides, try to find your way out of the maze garden, try to find all the different kinds of birds that the signs say there are, see crocodiles, see fish, see storks and cranes and their babies, and a lot more! It is really a beautiful place.

There are all kinds of beautiful trees and plants, which give the perfect decoration to the place. And the music in the background is simply beautiful! And do you know what this music is? It is the different calls and chirps of the different kinds of birds! Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary is indeed a great place to go!
